Flint BB2011 Elite Cup 2026 – Open Nordic Championships 2026

Flint BB2011 Elite Cup will be hosted first time in 2026 and will be a high-end event for boys born 2011. It will also be referred to as 'Open Nordic Championships'.
Flint Fotballfestival
Flint Fotball is among the ten biggest clubs in Norway in terms of number of teams and we have six full scale 11vs11 fields at our Flint ESSO Arena. The club is located in Tønsberg, some 100 km south-west of Oslo.
The coastal climate offers optimal conditions for outdoor sports during the summer.
We have hosted Flint Fotballfestival since 2016. This is a series of three tournaments for U12, U13 and U14, one weekend for each tournament. All these tournaments are based on our unique concept Multi Level Tournament, which ensures that all teams, regardless their level of strength, play many equal matches and may reach the final in their division.

The tournaments for U13 and U14 are international tournaments and the upper division offers a performance level comparable with traditional elite tournaments, boys and girls. These tournaments have gradually grown and we have now reached the full capacity of about 100 teams each. Further increase is not planned for.
Flint BB2011 Elite Cup
Flint Fotball has an organisation which is very well drilled and suited also for hosting elite tournaments. Further, during 2026 we will significantly upgrade our three natural grass pitches. Following this, we will in 2026 also launch a high-end international elite tournament for Boys Born 2011. Tournament information in a nut shell:
- Three-day tournament August 21st to 23rd 2026
- 24 or 32 teams
- Boys born January 2011 or later
- All matches will be played at our Flint ESSO Arena
Participating clubs
The tournament will have 24 or 32 teams from the following categories:
- Eight esteemed clubs representing the most attractive federations in Europe (Headliners)
- Four or eight spots reserved for clubs playing at the highest level in Denmark, Faroe Islands and Iceland
- Four or eight spots reserved for clubs playing at the highest level in Sweden and Finland
- Eight spots reserved for clubs playing in the Norwegian national series for U15
The below diagram showing confirmed teams will be updated continuously.
Terms and conditions
All terms and conditions will be agreed on individual basis whereby early confirmed teams will always qualify for better terms than late confirmed teams. Standard terms are:
- Registration fee: NOK 6,000
- Team fee: NOK 80,000 assuming basic accommodation and dining
Accommodation and dining
We will offer basic accommodation and dining for participating teams. Teams may however upgrade by selecting packages offered in close cooperation with our local hotels. The packages will be presented later.
Tentative tournament format
We will prepare a tournament format which is attractive for the participating teams. The fact that we have six playing fields gives us very much flexibility. Early confirmed clubs will be consulted before the format is fixed.
The below format is tentative and assume 24 teams. The teams are drawn into four groups and play a full round robin with two matches in the afternoon on Friday and three matches on Saturday. The two best teams in each group qualify for the knockout stage on Sunday.
All other teams play two placement matches planned in such way that matches between teams from the same country are avoided. Finalists play three matches on Sunday, all other two matches. All matches are 2 times 20 minutes.
Is this U15 or U16?
All Nordic countries except Denmark use a model whereby the season starts in March and ends in November. Clubs from these countries will attend with their U15-teams.
In all other European federations the season starts in August and ends in May. Clubs from these countries will attend with their U16-teams.
So, in order to avoid any confusion, we focus on the birth year, which in any case will be 2011.
Schedule
Clubs have already started to communicate interest to participate in our tournament and some have already been confirmed.
We assume all Headliners and minimum half of the spots for Nordic countries to be confirmed by end of September.
Thereafter the remaining spots will confirmed to clubs who have expressed their interest to attend. Final lineup and tournament format is expected to be complete by end of 2025.
