It's a common misunderstanding that tournaments for elite and grassroot need to be organized in totally different ways. In contrary, the basic objectives in both cases are:
- All teams play equal matches
- All teams play a predetermined number of matches
- All teams have a realistic chance of reaching the final and win a trophy
We also experience that a Multilevel tournament combines the best from both worlds: Traditional Elite tournaments usually attract very few spectators and there is no tournament atmosphere. Whereas the players and staff from elite academies contribute with best behaviour and serve as role models both on and off the pitches.
Further, we have experiences very good effects of have both boys and girls in the same event.
Video capturing the atmosphere at Flint Fotballfestival 2025
The main and groundbreaking attribute for this tournament concept is that big clubs can attend with all their teams and the tournament format ensures that they all play matches against teams at their own level. The entire group can travel, sleep and have social activities in the evening together and they can cheer for their club mates during the day. And this time it may be the second or third team that makes their way to the final at the main arena.
We are happy to share the model we have developed and the experience we have gathered over the past 10 years. We are convinced this is the future.
As an example, please find here the detailed description of the tournament setup for Flint Meny U13 Cup 2025, a tournament with 120 teams (24 in the class for girls and 96 in the class for boys). Amongst them Liverpool, Chelsea, Juventus and Swansea. All matches were played on 15 pitches at our Flint ESSO Arena defining the concept compact games.
